Tal y bont
Jan and Tracey supported two teachers from Millbrook Primary when they joined them at Tal y bont for the day. 26 young people had loads of fun getting used to the building, staff and the two fun-loving youth workers from Bettws Youth Development. The morning went well, with them aquainting themselves with the young people by engaging them in conversations, supporting them to settle in to their dorm rooms (and making beds) and generally having a laugh with them. (Tracey still does not know who to support in football, as the young people were split between Liverpool, Man United and another team she cannot remember). During the lunch hour, they organised a game of rounders, helped the young people make their lunch, and later, provided lots of support and encouragement for the team building games and activities. The day only ended when Jan dragged her colleague away from the place - the marks from her fingers are still embedded in the grass - to return to Bettws. Tracey has also sworn a vow of silence regarding the gate incident...if you want to know what happened, you will have to speak to Jan. As usual...it was very, very funny...you cannot keep a good youth worker down!!
